i believe for a fact

i believe for a fact

..that the title of this post is linguistically erroneous.

Don't you?

Because to believe means to make some sort of assumption of fact - to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so.

Whereas a fact is well.. a fact. You don't believe it; you know it.

Funny how a first-year and a third-year associate couldn't see it.
